Competitive Program

The Milton Marlin Swim Team is a nationally regarded team that consistently places athletes in finals at a Provincial and National level. The Team has steadily grown over the years and currently has 75 competitive swimmers.

MMST Hand Book UPDATED July 29th

Senior 
Swimmers train up to 9 times a week with a total commitment of up to approx. 18 hours per week. Coaches determine practice schedule based on individual athlete needs. Members of this squad are approximately 13yrs of age and older and train at a level consistent with Provincial and National level athletes. 80% attendance is required to maintain squad member status. Stage of development: Training to Train, Training to Compete and Training to Win.

Junior
Swimmers train up to 6 times a week with a total commitment of up to approx. 9 hours per week. Coaches determine practice schedule based on individual athlete needs.  Members of this squad are approximately 10yrs-12yrs of age and train and compete with a view to achieving Regional level standards.  Stage of development: FUNdamentals, Learning to Train, Training to Train and Training to Compete.

Novice
Swimmers train 2,3, or 4 times a week with a total commitment of 2.5- 5 hours per week. Members of this squad are approximately 10yrs of age and under and train with a view to compete in entry level competitions. Swimmers should be able to perform each of the 4 competitive strokes over a distance of 25 metres. Stage of development: FUNdamentals, Learning to Train.
