With only 2 weekends of racing under their belts, we've already seen numerous best times and new qualifiers for the various championship meets coming up this summer!
2 Club Records were broken at the Mallards Spring Long Course Challenge-
- Matthew Guthro- broke the 11-12 year old Boys 50 Fly record in a time of 32.37
- Heather Aylward- broke the 11-12 year old Girls 50 Fly record in a time of 32.28
Both records had stood on MMST's record boards for over 10 years- Congrats swimmers!
The Mallards Spring Long Course Challenge meet also saw 4 new Age Group National time standards achieved by our young Marlin swimmers-
- Graeme Aylward- 50 Breast & 50 Fly
- Heather Aylward- 50 Fly
- Stefan Tarla- 50 Free
Swimmers require 3 Age Group National time standards to attend the competition this July in Quebec, which will host the top age group swimmers from across the country. Graeme Aylward secured his ticket to the meet at the MAC meet in late April swimming to his 3rd Age Group National time in the 100 Breast. Graeme's 100 Breast and 50 Fly were also good enough to qualify him for the Eastern Canada Championships that take place every February.
Madison Macor got in on the action at the MAC meet swimming to her first Ontario Provincial time standard in the 200 Breastroke in a time of 2:56.66.
Congratulations to ALL Marlins swimmers on their achievements!
Up next- over 70 Marlin swimmers will be heading to London this weekend to swim in the 24th Annual Hollandia Invitational.
