Sheryl’s Nutrition Tips

So many of you have heard this before but I feel it is worth repeating. Proper hydration is essential for all of us, whether we are athletes or not for performance at practice or keeping that metabolism going … so keep drinking that H2O!

If you are thinking of spicing up your fluids or trying out the many benefits of fresh juice, try my favourite smoothie recipe:

1/3 cup rasberries, 1/3 cup mangos, 1/3 banana, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1 and 1/2 cup water, and a squirt of lemon or lime juice. Blend them all up together and enjoy a nutrient packed drink.  Remember you can use fresh or frozen berries/mangos or whatever your favourite fruits are.  You can also add your favourite health supplements or protein powder to make the smoothie more of a recovery shake to drink right after a workout! (This quantity makes about 2 large drinks).
